Volunteers

Our volunteers provide a wide range of services to the Foundation and the Museum.  Each year a volunteer luncheon is held to honour our volunteers.

Individual - $15      Contributing - $150 * 
Family - $20   Supporting - $300 *    
Senior - $10    Patron  (Lifetime) - $500 *  
Junior - $2 **   Business - $50

* Membership in these categories is recognized with a wall plaque in the Museum unless otherwise directed.  A copy of our privacy policy is available upon request.

**Junior members between the ages of 9 and 13 can serve as assistant interpreters and volunteer at our events.

About the Foundation

The A. Sheila Boyd Foundation, established in 1984, owns and maintains the historic Boyd Building (originally the Boyd Lumber office), located at 21 Canal Street East in Bobcaygeon, Ontario.

The Foundation:
- promotes the preservation of this historic building and site, its artifacts and archival material
- houses the Bobcaygeon Library, The A. Sheila Boyd Art Gallery, and The Boyd Heritage Museum
- publishes a bi-annual newsletter, "The Boyd Papers"
- stages fundraising events to support the Foundation such as, book sales, antiques & collectibles shows, children’s programmes, bingos
- provides information about local history through presentations and out-reach programmes
- has developed the Boyd Heritage Museum to interpret the lives and enterprises of the Mossom Boyd family from the 1830s
- provides volunteers for the Museum and special events
- operates an Art Gallery for local artists to display their work
- provides a place for cultural and heritage education and events.
